Cooperative Program

Involvement in Missions is very important at Mount Zion. We seek to follow the Acts 1:8 model to reach out in the name of Christ to our community, state, nation, and the world. We support the Cooperative Program of the Southern Baptist Convention by giving a portion of our budget to the program. This helps fund Georgia Baptist Missions, the North American Mission Board (NAMB) and the International Mission Board (IMB), as well as Southern Baptist Colleges, Seminaries and mission endeavors across the globe.

We have several missionaries on the field from Mount Zion. David and Alisha Holt are serving in Argentina as appointees of the IMB. Chris and Chrissy Cox and their family are serving in Dakar, West Africa as appointees of the IMB. Meredith Mize is on the field in New Orleans working with the NAMB and Project Noah Rebuild.

We support local missions in our community through giving to the Gwinnett Metro Baptist Association. We also have many Mount Zion members involved in the Barnabas Prison Ministry, the Promise House, the Crisis Pregnancy Center, as well as other avenues of missions locally.

Mount Zion members are personally involved in missions through short term Mission trips. These include two 7-10 day overseas mission trips each year, as well as our students and adults participating in World Changers Mission projects during the Summer.

Our Men’s Ministry and several of our Bible Study Groups are also involved in mission projects throughout the year.
